BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN) – The owner of a home in the 100 block of Bryant Street had to be rescued late Sunday afternoon during a Battle Creek house fire.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the fire was reported at 5:40 p.m..
Homeowner Mary Tolf was found by Battle Creek firefighters unresponsive in a second floor bedroom.
Firefighters brought her out through a window and down an extension ladder to safety.
She was resuscitated but at last report was said to be in critical condition at a local hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal.
Damages were estimated at nearly $135,000 as the entire house received substantial damage.
