BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police say a social media conflict apparently led to the shooting death on July 11 of 17-year-old Christopher Williams.
19-year-old Cameron Anthony James of Battle Creek was arraigned on Friday in Calhoun County District Court in connection with the shooting which took place just before midnight on July 11 at Arbor Pointe Townhomes.
James is facing open murder and weapons offense charges.
Police believe there were ongoing conflicts and arguments between James and Williams on social media, which culminated in challenges to meet in person.
Williams died from his gun shot wounds at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
He graduated in June from Battle Creek Cental High School
