BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police have arrested a suspect in the July 11 shooting death of 17-year-old Christopher Mark Williams.
Police have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Cameron Anthony James of Battle Creek.
The Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office has approved an open murder charge and a weapons offense charge.
The suspect is in Calhoun County Jail. The identity will be released following his formal arraignment.
Williams was shot to death just before midnight on July 11 at Arbor Pointe Townhomes.
Calhoun County Dispatch received calls for multiple gunshots in the area located off Jackson Street West near North 20th Street.
Williams died after being taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital.
He graduated last month from Battle Creek Cental High School.
