VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A home invasion suspect was taken into custody in Van Buren County on Wednesday evening, July 20, but only after having to be chased and tased.
Deputies with the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office responded around 9 p.m. to a residence in the 63000 block of County Road 388 on a report of a home invasion in progress.
The victim, who called 9-1-1, reported that they had arrive home to find the door open to their house, and that an unknown male was inside.
Deputies along with Officers from the South Haven Police Department arrived on scene as the suspected started to flee.
A short foot pursuit ensued with the subject refusing to comply with authorities.
Police then deployed a taser and were able to take the subject into custody after a short struggle.
Stolen property from the residence was recovered from the suspect after he was taken into custody and lodged at the Van Buren County Jail.
