BENTON HARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A Benton Harbor woman was found by police on the side of the road with a fatal gunshot wound to the head in Berrien County on Wednesday evening, July 20.
Benton Charter Township Police Department officers responded to Norton Avenue and East Napier Avenue on report of gunshots fired.
On scene, police found both a man and woman lying outside a white Jeep that was stopped on the side of the road.
The 33-year-old woman had a single gunshot wound to the head, according to police.
The man, a 30-year-old from Lansing was unharmed and taken into custody.
Witnesses told police that there was an argument inside of the Jeep just before the shooting.
The man who was taken into custody is lodged at the Berrien County Jail on charges stemming from the incident to include open murder.
