LOS ANGELES — Former Michigan State University basketball star Miles Bridges is scheduled to be arraigned today in Los Angeles with two felonies for child abuse and another felony charge of domestic violence.
Bridges was arrested June 30 after police responded to a call for assistance regarding a domestic incident. According to the police report, Bridges was arrested for “intimate partner violence with injury” after a physical altercation that took place on June 27. The incident involving Bridge’s wife, Mychelle Johnson, was alledgedly witnessed by the couple’s two young children.
Prosecutors say Bridges will be held accountable for his actions, adding children who witness family violence “are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable.”
Bridges, 24, is a Flint native and starred at Michigan State University for two season before being drafted by the Charlotte Hornets. He became a restricetd free agent this off season.
