KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Four people were arrested and one vehicle was impounded early Sunday morning after the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to two separate nuisance party complaints.
Just after midnight, KDPS received complaints about numerous people and vehicles in the 600 block of Locust Street. Officers found grid-locked traffic conditions and hundreds of people milling about.
PA announcements were given for nuisance party attendees to leave the area while traffic posts assisted with clearing vehicles from the roadway. The attendees complied with the requests of officers and left.
An area resident was identified as the epicenter of the disturbance and cited for the nuisance party.
Two hours later, officers responded to the 800 block of Woodbury Street for gridlocked traffic conditions and large crowds out. PA announcements were given again requesting nuisance party attendees to leave. Traffic posts were again set up to assist with vehicles leaving the area.
After several announcements and opportunities to leave, public safety officers arrested a small group of people who refused to leave.
According to a news release from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, “Public Safety is continuing its enforcement of these violations and addressing the unsafe conditions it presents in order to improve the quality of life for city residents.”
