KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Voters will have six candidates to chose from who are running for Kalamazoo County Circuit Court judge in the Tuesday, August 2 Primary Election.
And because they’ve reached the state-mandated age limit of 70, Kalamazoo County Circuit Court judges Alexander Lipsey and Stephen Gorsalitz are retiring.
This in turn, is leaving two Circuit Court seats up for grabs for the four candidates who make it past the August primary onto the nonpartisan November ballot as they advance to November’s general election.
The candidates are listed in alphabetical order:
- Kalamazoo County Assistant Prosecutor Ken Barnard, 52, of Oshtemo Township
- Kalamazoo County Assistant Prosecutor Rebecca D’Angelo, 44, of Mattawan
- Kalamazoo Defender Executive Director Josh Hilgart, 51, of Kalamazoo
- Referee at Van Buren County Courts Joseph Hohler III, 46, of Kalamazoo
- Administrative law specialist Julie Jensen, 53, of Scotts
- Assistant Kalamazoo Defender Rachel Vinales, 34, of Kalamazoo Township
