BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A leaking valve of a 16-inch Emmett Township water main requires emergency work on Wednesday, July 6, that will shut off water to a section of homes and businesses in the Township.
The water shut off will start at 7 a.m. along East Michigan Avenue, from Princeton Street east to west of the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility, in the area of Kimball Pines County Park.
The medical care facility and water customers east will continue receiving water service, but could see some outages if the repair work takes longer than expected.
Work is expected to be completed by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6.
Officials are cautioning that all customers on the Emmett Township water system along East Michigan from Princeton Street to FireKeepers Casino and Hotel/Ackerson Drive will be under a boil water advisory once work is complete.
The advisory will also include Pine Knoll Apartments and Lakeside Apartments.
Information on the advisory will be made available on local media, the city website, and township officials when it goes into effect.
