SPRINGFIELD, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a “man with a gun” call at Omni Credit Union located at 4150 West Dickman Road in Springfield around 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, June 30.
The 9-1-1 call stated that a white male had walked into the credit union with a gun strapped to his back.
The subject had made earlier statements to employees at another location that he was “going to show up and raise some hell” over an alleged bank issue.
During the investigation it was discovered that the gun strapped on the suspects back was a loaded semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun with an extended magazine. The suspect was also carrying a handgun in his waistband.
An employee was able to talk to the man while other employees went into the vault until Sheriff’s deputies could arrive.
Deputies located a third gun, an AR-15 rifle, in the suspect’s trunk after his arrest.
The subject was taken into custody without incident and arrested and lodged at the Calhoun County Jail.
