COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Prosecutors have charged a teenage girl with allegedly making a false bomb threat at Bronson High School on March 9.
18-year-old Morgan Payge Fill was arraigned on Monday in Branch County District Court on felony charges of False Report or Threat of Terrorism and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. She has also been charged with a high court misdemeanor of Lying to a Peace Officer.
The charges were filed following an investigation by the Michigan State Police.
According to court documents, the threat against the school was made by email through the State of Michigan’s OK2SAY website.
Fill was a student at Bronson High School at the time of the alleged threat.
The email stated a bomb will be placed in the lunchroom at 11 and go off five minutes laters.
Branch County Central Dispatch, the Bronson Police Department, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office and Bronson Schools were made aware of the threat by OK2SAY.
Court documents also indicate Fill allegedly made at least five other false reports on the OK2SAY app against the school and another student.
Fill stood mute during her arraignment and a not guilty plea was entered on her behalf.
A personal recognizance bond was set at $25,000. She was ordered not to be on Bronson School property and she could not use or possess any electronic communications device unless under supervision.
A probable cause hearing was set for July 7 with a preliminary exam scheduled for July 12.
