KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Growlers baseball team currently sits in first place in the Northwoods League Great Lakes East Division with just eight games remaining in the first half of the 2022 season.
If the Growlers finish in first place at the conclusion of those eight games they will clinch a playoff berth for this August. They hold a 2 game lead over both Kenosha and their rival Battle Creek.
In the Northwoods League the top finishers from each half of the season are awarded playoff berths. The first half of the season concludes Monday, July 4.
The Growlers begin a four game road trip Monday, June 27th with a two game series in Kokomo followed by a two game series in Fond du Lac.
The Growlers will close out the first half of the season with home games July 1-4. Kalamazoo will play second place Kenosha Friday and Saturday night.
Fireworks shows are planned for both Friday night and Monday, July 4.
