DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers took care of business at home Sunday as they defeated the Texas Rangers 7-3.
Robbie Grossman homered and drove in four runs as the Tigers salvaged a split of the four game series with the Rangers. The Tigers scored five or more runs in consecutive games for the first time this season after they beat the Rangers 14-7 on Saturday which ended a six game losing streak.
Alex Lange was credited with the win as starter Drew Hutchinson could not get out of the fifth inning.
Hutchinson was designated for assignment after the game as the Tigers are expected to reactivate third baseman Jeimer Candelario from the injured list Monday before their game at Boston.
The opening pitch for tonight’s game is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
