BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Quick action by the Battle Creek Fire Department is being credited for saving four nearby homes after a garage went up in flames early Thursday morning.
The detached two car garage at 712 Riverside Drive was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 2:45 a.m. One vehicle was destroyed and another suffered extensive damage. Four adjacent homes suffered some heat damage.
The property loss was estimated at around $72,000, with the content loss at around $30,000.
The Battle Creek Fire Marshal has determined faulty wiring to be the cause of the blaze. There were no injuries.
