CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Calhoun County will hold two free recycling events during the month June.
A scrap tire collection will be held on Monday, June 13 from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Athens Township Hall which is located at 130 East Burr Oak Street in Athens.
You must be a Calhoun County resident to take part and only residential tires will be accepted. No business or farm tires will be allowed.
Passenger vehicle tires with and without rims will be accepted but tires larger than semi-truck tires will not be taken.
The event may end early if the trailer is full. Participants are asked to stay in their vehicle while materials are being unloaded by recycling volunteers.
In addition, there will be an Electronics, Scrap Metal, and Scrap Tire Collection on Thursday, June 30 from noon until 5:30 p.m. at Ketchum Field in Albion, MI
Scrap tire collections are funded through the EGLE Scrap Tire Cleanup Grant.
EGLE rules limit the number of scrap tires brought by a resident to 10 scrap tires.
