BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — After a delay, the Michigan Department of Transportation will begin to resurface 2.9 miles of M-37 from M-96 to Creekview Drive in the Battle Creek and Springfield area on Monday, June 6.
The $4 million dollar investment will include cold milling and hot-mix asphalt resurfacing, concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk ramps, and pavement markings.
MDOT says the work was scheduled to begin in late April with an anticipated completion date of late October, but was delayed until Amtrak granted the contractor, Lakeland Asphalt Corporation out of Battle Creek permission to work in the railroad right of way.
The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, November 25.
