Fire Marshal’s office investigating fire in Kalamazoo late Thursday afternoon

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – There were no injuries in a fire that broke out in a multi-family residence late Thursday afternoon.

At 5:54 p.m. officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety responded to the 1300 block of Forbes Street. They found smoke coming from the front of the residence, but were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Both apartments within the structure were unoccupied, and no injuries were reported during this incident.

The cause of this fire is not yet known and is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office.
