ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Western Michigan University men’s tennis team will be on the road at fifth-seeded University of Michigan to take on the Wolverines Friday in the first round of the NCAA Men’s Tennis Tournament.
The match’s time is still to be determined. Tickets for the match will only be sold at the gate. Pricing will be $6 for adults/general public and $4 for youth and seniors (55+). Cash and card will be accepted for payment.
This is WMU’s 15th trip to the NCAA Tournament and just its second time playing the Wolverines. The first meeting came back in 2008, with a 4-1 win by U of M. The two teams met very early in the dual-match season with Michigan winning 6-1 in Ann Arbor.
Western Michigan earned its trip to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship last Sunday, 5-2, over Toledo. The Broncos were also the MAC Regular Season Champions after posting a 9-1 record in conference play.
Michigan finished in second in the Big 10 regular season standings but upset top-seeded Ohio State in the Big 10 Tournament.
