KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo Astronomical Society invites the public to observe the wonders of the universe at its Owl Observatory.
The Owl Observatory now features a 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope.
In addition, telescopes of all sizes will be set up near the observatory, located on the grounds of the Kalamazoo Nature Center at 7000 North Westnedge Avenue.
Upcoming observing dates:
Saturday, May 7: “The Moon and Star Clusters of Spring”
Saturday, May 21: “Galaxies of the Great Bear”
Observing begins both nights at 9 p.m.
KAS members will be on hand at the start of each session to conduct a telescope clinic to help beginners learn how to properly set-up and use their telescopes.
Each session also features a constellation workshop.
Sessions will be canceled if the sky is mostly cloudy or overcast.
