KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A family of three has been displaced, after an early Friday morning house fire in Kalamazoo.
At approximately 1230 a.m. Kalamazoo Public Safety Officers responded to a structure fire in the 1800 block of Shire Lane. Upon arrival, there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the residence. The fire was initially knocked down from the exterior which allowed an interior team to gain entry.
The fire was brought under control in under 10 minutes.
There were no injuries to the residents or firefighters, and the KDPS says the Red Cross is providing temporary housing for the family.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
