KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A homeless encampment in the Eastside neighborhood will be shut down, according to a statement from the City of Kalamazoo Wednesday.
The camp is located in the woods near Charles Avenue and Arthur Avenue.
A spokesperson for the City of Kalamazoo said it’s aware of the camp, which is on city property, and the city is giving 24 hours notice to vacate the premises.
Spokesman Jay Shatara said Public Safety Officers will be out there in the next few days to make sure the area is vacated.
