PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Portage City Council has narrowed their list of finalists for City Manager to three. All three candidates are currently working in Michigan.
After interviewing five candidates this past Saturday, the City Council last night identified those that will be back for a second round of interviews.
The candidates are Peter Dame, the current City Manager in Grosse Pointe. Patrick McGinnis, the City Manager in Grand Haven, and Jade Smith, the Municipal Services Director in Canton Township.
Mayor Patricia Randall set May 5 at 2:30 p.m. as the time for those next interviews, saying the decision they make will impact the city for years to come.
The interviews will be open to the public as the City Council takes this next step in the process.
It’s been nine months since former City Manager Joseph LaMargo left the position.
