LANSING, MI — Thirteen women sexually assaulted by Larry Nassar are seeking compensation of $130 million from the FBI for its handling of the investigation of the former USA Gymnastics team doctor.
A suit filed Wednesday in federal court says the women suffered “significant and irreparable personal injuries” due to the botched FBI investigation of Nassar.
The Justice Department’s Inspector General released the findings of his investigation into the FBI’s handling of the former MSU doctor’s case. The investigation found the FBI neglected the case and took more than eight months to respond to the first allegations from victims.
Nassar was sentenced to over 100 years in prison in 2018.
