BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek Police have arrested a man on a charge of homicide and open murder for a violent crime that happened in December of last year.
In a news release issued on Wednesday, April 20, the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office charged 42-year-old Mohamed Saleh with the murder of 51-year-old Ian Williams on December 3, 2021.
Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Michigan Avenue for a report of a suspicious person in the area. Upon arrival, they were directed to an abandoned residence, whey they found Williams on the floor with severe trauma to his head.
Williams was transported to Bronson Battle Creek for treatment, and eventually transferred to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where he passed away from his injuries on December 14th, 2021.
Saleh is currently lodged at the Calhoun County Jail on a charge of homicide and open murder.
