PAW PAW, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Michigan State Police Troopers and detectives from the Southwest Enforcement Team arrest a suspect tied to an organized crime group originating from southern Texas. And with the arrest in Van Buren County came the recovery of 460 grams of cocaine.
Authorities say the bust happened on Thursday, April 14, in Decatur Township when police stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on M-51 near 76th Avenue.
Through further investigation and evidence of illegal activity presented during the stop, legal methods were taken to search the the vehicle and the driver. During the search, troopers located the stash of cocaine and arrested the driver identified as 49-year-old Rodolfo Cantu of Alamo Texas.
Cantu is now lodged at the Van Buren County jail for felony drug charges and has since been arraigned.
Other evidence of drug trafficking was also seized from the vehicle an the investigation continues into possible co-conspirators.
