KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo robotics team, Magitech, also known as Team 7658, is a strong contender to compete at the First Robotics Michigan State Championships going on now through Saturday, April 16. And to make sure they got to the state-wide event, they sought help from the public.
The high-tech, high spirited team set a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to get it’s 12 members who come from three Kalamazoo area high schools to the competition.
The team had the honor of receiving both the Industrial Design Award and Team Spirit Award, and were ready to show off their skills.
The page itself read quote, “For a small team like ours, First Robotics competition is expensive, especially at the state level.”
It went onto say that the team was ready to show everyone what a small, underfunded team can accomplish in the world of robotics competition.
As of Wednesday, April 13, the page had raised a total of $5,900. To view the GoFundMe, please visit: https://gf.me/v/c/nks/send-
