KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police are searching for the juvenile responsible for shooting his father Sunday evening, April 10, in the 500 block of Vernon Court.
Authorities say that an argument between the 35-year-old man and his son lead up to the incident before the son fired multiple shots.
Surveillance video from a neighbor showed the father walking into the front door of the home in the Edison neighborhood. Witnesses said they heard an argument between the two, then at least three gunshots before the son ran out of the home.
Officers responded to Vernon Court around 7:30 p.m. and found the father lying in the front yard with gunshot wounds.
The victim is currently in critical condition at the hospital, but is expected to survive.
Even though the suspect is not in custody at this time police say there is no danger to the public.

One in hospital in critical condition following Sunday shooting in Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police are investigating a shooting that landed a man in the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say it happened 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, in the 500 block of Vernon Court.
On scene, police found a 35-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Police are not releasing the name of the victim at this time and the investigation is on-going.

Hi im the victims daughter and the suspects sister , i just wanted too try and help find the suspect, did you guys look on the east side where he normally be, and if he´s not located there you guys can go look on lake and mills he be over there sometimes too… or you can contact his girlfriend on facebook at ( Antonise reed ) , but i just hope my brother gets found or turn himself in and that my father gets well soon…< /3❣ .
