KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A portion of Sprinkle Road in Kalamazoo had it’s southbound lanes closed for about an hour-and-a-half on Friday, April 1, due to an accident.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Officers responded to Sprinkle Road and Cork Street around 1:19 p.m. on a report that a dump truck had rolled over. Once on scene, officers discovered that a dump truck had turned over and was spilling a load of concrete in the roadway.
Those traveling southbound on Sprinkle had to find alternate routes because travel in that direction was shut down at Miller Road as responders investigated and crews worked to clean up the scene.
The driver of the truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Police believe alcohol to not be a factor in the accident.
The closed off southbound portion of Sprinkle Road was reopened around 3 p.m.
