BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek police are now ruling the suspicious death of a woman found in her home over the weekend a homicide.
51-year-old Battle Creek resident Angela Kay Clear was found dead in her home on Saturday, March 26, after her daughter had called in a welfare check.
Police responded to the call at 1:25 p.m. at Cherry Hill Manor apartments where they had to pick the lock to gain entry.
Once inside the apartment, they found Clear to be unresponsive and pronounced her deceased.
Authorities say the person of interest in this incident has been detained, interviewed, and arrested.
He is now awaiting arraignment on homicide charges in the Calhoun County Jail.

BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A welfare check by the Battle Creek Police Department led to the discovery of a woman who had died at her home.
Police received a call at 1:25 p.m. Saturday from a daughter seeking a welfare check on her mother.
The daughter had not heard from her mother in several days.
Police reported to Cherry Hill Manor apartments, where they had to pick the lock to get in. Upon entry, they found an unresponsive female.
The Battle Creek Police are treating this death as suspicious.
