BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – The City of Battle Creek has gotten a one-time payment of over $1 million from the HOME Investment Partnership Program.
The money is coming through the American Rescue Plan funds and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The goal of the funding is to reduce homelessness in Battle Creek which has increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The City of Battle Creek will be gathering proposals from qualified non profit organizations until April 14. The deadline for questions related to HOME-ARP will be March 31.
A committee will look over the proposals and those selected will be included in the city’s funding distribution plan which will be submitted to HUD.
The city’s Community Development team will award grants with HUD approval of the city’s plan.
