LANSING, MI — It is spring and that means the threat of severe weather rises in Michigan. This is Severe Weather Awareness Week in the state and officials across mid-Michigan urge residents to use this week to prepare for a possible emergency.
Emergency managers say everyone should have a plan for home, school or in the car as to where they would go in case of severe weather like a tornado. Preparations should also include what to do with pets.
There is a statewide tornado drill scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
