BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation is set to conduct a study to reevaluate the safety and operational effectiveness of the intersection and traffic signal at M-66, Division Street North at East State Street and John West Patterson Way near downtown Battle Creek.
MDOT will do this by switching the signal to flash mode for a minimum of 90 days beginning Tuesday, March 29.
The signal will flash yellow for M-66 traffic and red for East State Street and John West Patterson Way.
Motorists may experience short delays as the signal is reprogrammed and signs are installed.
MDOT officials hope that updated signal timing and effectiveness will improve traffic flow and safety for the M-66 corridor through downtown Battle Creek.
The study is due to conclude on Thursday, June 30.
