BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – A Battle Creek firefighter suffered minor injuries on Saturday night when a floor collapsed as crews were performing overhauling work following a fire at 170 Rolling Drive.
The Battle Creek Fire Department says the injured firefighter was not taken to the hospital.
The fire in the single family fixed trailer was reported at 6:01 p.m..
The first crews on the scene saw fire coming from one of the bedroom windows. They were able to quickly gain control of the flames.
All of the occupants managed to get out safely. The Red Cross was contacted for the displaced family.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s office. Damages were reported to a bedroom and a hallway. They were estimated at $70,000.
