LANSING, MI — Every cent adds up when it comes to the price of gas these days. Seeking some relief at the pump for Michigan drivers, the state House has voted 63-to-39 to suspend Michigan’s gas tax of 27-cents-per-gallon for six months.
The State Senate in Lansing is expected to pass the bill next week. Governor Whitmer is not in favor of suspending the state gas tax, but has asked Congress to pause the federal 18-cent-per-gallon tax.
