KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is one step closer to nabbing two suspects accused of stealing mail out of boxes in the Vicksburg area.
With the help from a series of videos, officers on Monday, March 7, gained evidence of the thefts which occurred near the Village of Vicksburg, and Brady Township.
The videos showed the suspects in a car quickly moving down the line of mailboxes, pocketing anything and everything they could find. One of them showed a man in the backseat opening up the mail boxes one by one, while a second, showed the driver stealing from the mailboxes.
Both suspects have been identified, with the female suspect in custody who confessed to the crime, along with additional mail thefts in the area.
Police are now actively searching for the mail suspect who is wanted on outstanding unrelated warrants and is a person of interest.
He is identified as Rocky William Thomas, a white male, twenty years of age, standing between five-foot-five and five-foot-seven inches tall, and weighing approximately 179 pounds.
Thomas is known to stay at various hotels in the greater Kalamazoo area.
Police are asking anyone with more information to contact the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office at 269-383-8748, or Silent Observer at 269-343-2100 .
