KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A new fly-through video has been released that shows the conceptual design for the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency’s new Career Center.
KRESA has been gathering input from students, educators, industry representatives, and leaders from community organizations to present to their architect, Wightman & Associates and DLR Group.

Voters in November 2019 approved a new millage that proponents say will increase funding for technical education and career training for students in Kalamazoo County.
Officials at the agency hope the funds will bolster career readiness programs among K-12 students, allow them to purchase new technology and equipment, and streamline services as they move toward consolidating Kalamazoo County’s career technical programs in a centrally located facility.
The new facility, expected to open in fall 2024, will be constructed on the parcel of donated land located along the I-94 and Sprinkle Road corridor next to Wings Stadium, thanks to an anonymous gift of land and a $100 million commitment for the construction to KRESA.
The gifts were announced in October 2021 by the regional economic development agency Southwest Michigan First.
Currently the county’s career development programs operate in a “decentralized consortium model”, with an array of services and courses offered by area high schools, partnering local businesses, and Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
