BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Two suspects were formally charged with eight felony counts apiece on Monday in Calhoun County District Court following an incident last Wednesday morning in which a Battle Creek man claims he was held against his will in a home in the 100 block of Marjorie Street.
Bond for 28-year-old Nicole Botimer was set at $30,000 while 23-year-old Shamar Shorter was being held on a $50,000.
The charges filed against them include unlawful imprisonment, armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
Battle Creek Police say that officers responded to the 100 block of Marjorie Street after a call came in about a kidnapping. Police say the alleged victim was able to get away from the suspects and flag down a garbage truck in the neighborhood to call 911.
Police found one of the suspects during a traffic stop in the area. The second suspect was found at the residence on Marjorie Street.
