LANSING, MI — The state is expected to start releasing auto insurance rebate money this week to insurance companies. The 400-dollar rebates per vehicle are due to a three-billion-dollar surplus in the Michigan Catastrophic Claims Association’s fund.
Once that money has been transferred to insurance companies, the rebates must be sent to those with insured vehicles within 60 days and no later than May 9, 2022. Most drivers will begin seeing their $400 checks per insured vehicle in May, state officials say.
