KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of a fatal Amtrak Train pedestrian accident on Friday, March 4.
Authorities say that 25-year-old Kaitlyn Elizabeth Obuchowski of Portage was killed when she was struck by eastbound Wolverine Train 350 while walking on the tracks near the 5200 block of West KL Avenue in Oshtemo Township.
Deputies responded to the accident around 11:44 a.m. and found that the train had stopped, and that Obuchowski had been struck. She was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
None of the passengers on the Amtrak train were injured due to the accident.
The incident remains under investigation.
