KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety police are investigating two shooting incidents that occurred over the weekend in Kalamazoo.
The most recent one took place on Saturday, March 5, when multiple gunshots rang out at a Kalamazoo apartment complex. Authorities say that officers were called out to the 2100 block of Inverness Lane around 7:08 p.m.
Investigators found a 15-year-old Kalamazoo resident who had been shot while walking but was not injured. So far, no suspects have been identified.
Kalamazoo police are also investigating an earlier shooting incident that happened early Saturday morning, March 5, near Western Michigan University in the 2900 block of Howard Street.
Officers went to the parking lot by the Ybar & Bistro and Que Buenos around 1:15 a.m. and found a red SUV with multiple bullet holes.
Investigators could not say if the truck was targeted or damaged because of ricocheted bullets, but did say that no one was hit by any bullets and that no injuries were reported.
