TEXAS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One person was critically injured after a crash near Portage Tuesday evening.
The accident happened on westbound I-94 between the 9th Street and US-131 exits in Texas Township shortly after 7:00 p.m. First responders from Portage and first responders from Texas Township were both dispatched to a crash.
The Portage Department of Public Safety says while first responders originally thought it was two similar crashes, they realized while responding they had been dispatched to the same crash.
The two departments worked to quickly extricate someone who was critically injured, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
