KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Kalamazoo City Commissioners have approved a new contract with their Public Safety Officers union after a closed session Monday night to discuss the details.
The negotiations initially drew fire from some for not being more transparent. Commissioners say they have taken a number of steps to make reforms for the department, and took the unprecedented step to put some of them into the union’s contract as well.
The vote for approval was unanimous.
