MATTAWAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Republican candidate for Governor from Mattawan says his campaign has raised nearly $1.4 million since declaring his candidacy in April 2021.
Garrett Soldano is one of over 15 Republican candidates hoping to challenge current Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. He is an original founder of the group “Stand Up Michigan,” and was a Co-Chair of the Unlock Michigan campaign to limit the Governor’s executive powers.
In January Soldano also became the first Republican gubernatorial candidate to submit signatures to qualify for ballot access. He collected over 20,000 signatures from all of Michigan’s 83 counties.
Whitmer’s campaign in October announced she had $12.6 million on hand for her reelection bid.
