PARCHMENT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Both Parchment Middle and High Schools are transitioning to virtual learning this week.
That announcement comes by way of a letter from Superintendent Jason P. Misner.
Initially, officials had announced that the Parchment School District would be closed Monday due to staff illnesses and shortages, while the daycare would remain open.
Superintendent Misner later wrote that Parchment High School will be in virtual learning for the rest of this week, January 24 – 28.
- Further communication will come from the building.
- Shared programs (EFE, CTE, EFA, KAMSC, etc.) will continue as usual.
- All scheduled extracurricular activities will continue as planned.
In addition, Parchment Middle School will be in virtual learning for the next two days, January 25 and 26.
Classes at Parchment Middle School are expected to resume on Thursday, January 27.

All elementary schools will return to in-person instruction Tuesday, January 25.
School meals will be available for middle and high school students at the high school from 11 – 12:30 while this policy is in effect.
Those who wish to take advantage of this should enter through the gym doors.
“We encourage you to get tested if you have been potentially exposed to COVID, or are experiencing symptoms,” Misner wrote. “It remains vital that you keep your children home if they are sick to help reduce the spread of all illness, including COVID, in our schools.”
