LANSING, MI — As the opening of the new McLaren Greater Lansing hospital and health care campus nears, CATA has begun a new bus route – the Capital City Crosstown – which takes people from the city’s east side to the west side using Mt. Hope Avenue. One of the planned stops on the bus route is McLaren’s new health care campus.
The new bus line is part of McLaren’s plan to improve access to the new health care campus. In addition, Forest and Collins Roads – both provide access to the new hospital – have received infrastructure updates, including a traffic circle to address traffic flow in the area.
“Because many of our patients come from our local neighborhoods, planning for public transportation accommodations was always on the forefront of our planning and not an afterthought,” said John Patterson, VP of operations at McLaren Greater Lansing.
McLaren plans to welcome its first patients to the new hospital this March. Those familiar with the new project say the new McLaren Health Care Campus is just the start of expansion and development at the University Health Park near Michigan State University.
