KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — 25-year-old D-Angelo Davis of Kalamazoo entered a guilty plea on Thursday in Kalamazoo County Circuit Court to second-degree murder. In exchange for his plea, the Kalamazoo County prosecutors office dismissed the home invasion and weapons charges.
Davis and Tonesha Taylor-McMillion, both siblings, were arrested on February 22 of last year, and were charged with two counts of murder in relation to the deaths of Floyd Brashers Jr. and Katoya McPherson who were found dead on December 29, 2020, at the Oak Tree apartment complex on Nazareth Road.
According to court records, the shooting happened hours after Davis and Brashers got into a dispute over ownership of a used car earlier in the day.
“There’s a history between Mr. Brashers and the defendants in this case that unfortunately led up to this murder,” said Kalamazoo County prosecutor Jeff Getting.
Davis is scheduled to be sentenced April 4, 2022.
