KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The mother of a Kalamazoo Central High School sophomore alleges her daughter was tackled to the ground and injured by an administrator at the school.
WWMT-TV reports Kalamazoo Township police and the school district both said they are investigating the incident that involves a school employee.
The TV station says in a statement the school district said, “There was an altercation in the lunchroom at Kalamazoo Central High School on January 11, 2022. An investigation is still ongoing including both the students and adults who witnessed or were involved in the altercation. Because of both student and employee privacy laws, the district is unable to provide any additional information. As far as any alleged injuries sustained by the student, we have no evidence that has been submitted to us for review in that regard.”
Jennifer Coker says she had to take her daughter to the hospital for a concussion and fractured elbow.
