KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A long-time Kalamazoo County Government employee has announced her retirement, officials announced
Monday.
Lisa A. Henthorn gave a 30-day notice to retire from her position as the interim Kalamazoo County Administrator/Controller.
Her retirement will be effective February 2, 2022.
The Kalamazoo County Board of Commissioners received and accepted this resignation on Monday, January 3, 2022.
At their August 10, 2021 Board of Commissioner’s meeting, Henthorn indicated a willingness to delay her initial retirement to serve as the Interim County Administrator until March 31, 2022, if necessary, upon her acceptance to serve as the Interim County Administrator / Controller.
“It has been an honor and a privilege to serve Kalamazoo County, and I sincerely wish the organization all the best,” Henthorn said in a statement. “Quite simply, it is time for me to pivot and enjoy more time with my wonderfully supportive family.”
Officials note that she has over 35 years of dedicated service to the County.
“The Board of Commissioners would like to thank the Interim County Administrator for the many years of service to our community and her willingness to delay her retirement to serve in this role,” County Board Chair Tracy Hall said. “She has done tremendous work within her various roles throughout her career with this organization, and has positively impacted the county.”
