BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police are investigating the discovery of a man’s body near the railroad tracks at Dickman and South Avenues over the holiday weekend.
Police say they responded to a call at about 12:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon from a concerned citizen who said a man that was not moving near the tracks.
When officers arrived, they confirmed that the 34-year-old man was deceased with extensive injuries.
After the initial police investigation, it appears the man was struck by a train sometime after 8:00 p.m. on Christmas Night.
At this time, his name is being withheld until the family can be properly notified.
The Battle Creek City Police Detective Bureau is seeking tips from anyone who might have information about this incident.
