KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – After months of work and gathering input from students, educators, industry representatives, and leaders from community-facing organizations, architects for the Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency have drafted a conceptual design for the organization’s new centrally located Career Center.
The designs from Wightman & Associates and DLR Group were unveiled last week.

In January, the KRESA Board of Education will review the Career Center’s conceptual design, and they expect to move forward with hiring a construction firm. Meanwhile, Curriculum and Facility committees will be working to develop curriculum and provide input on the learning space/classroom as well as input on the equipment needed. They will also be working to create new Career and Technical Education programming in the fields of Design and Supply Chain to be approved by the State of Michigan.
Once the conceptual design is approved, cost estimates will be done. That will lead to schematic designs, which should be completed in the spring of 2022.
